Easy Beading Tips

We all have great short cuts that make our beading experience more enjoyable.  If you have any to share we'd love to hear from you!

Adding a short piece of looped chain to the opposite side of a Lobster Claw helps to make your project adjustable.  And don't forget to add a bead to the end of the chain which really gives it that extra touch.

Needle cases are super important!  You want to be able to locate your needles when you need them!  Here are some simple ideas to help you stay organized.

Take an old eye glasses case.  Add magnetic strips to the inside and you have a great needle holder that will fit all sizes of needles!

Our Wood Needle Case ($1.05 each) fits both the English Beading Needles ($1.70 for a pkg. of 4 needles) and the Big Eye Needles ($0.50 each)

Having EYE SIGHT ISSUES while beading?  Did it happen over night to you, like it did me?!  Well here is what I've learned.

Keep a comfortable pair of reading glasses with your beads.  Doesn't have to be an expensive pair.  They just need to be comfortable along with the right power so that your eyes don't strain anymore.  When going to purchase a pair bring with you a beading pattern along with one of your bead magazines to test the glasses with.  Always start at the lower power.  You don't want to go too strong, too fast.  It's also helpful to have a case for your reading glasses.  This will help protect them so that when you throw the glasses in with your beading project they don't get scratched.  Scratches can cause you to panic that your eyes are getting even worse.  (haha!)

Keeping your thread from tangling when not beading with it can be a tricky thing.  Try laying your needle over top of your bead case or a seed bead tube then wrap your thread around to secure.  This keeps your thread neat and tangle free AND you won't have to rethread your needle!  That's always a plus!

Threading needles can sometimes be a big hassle.  When you get it the first time you actually feel like you won the lottery!  We've all experienced the "threading game".  If this is a game that you're not wanting to play anymore why not try a BIG EYE NEEDLE!  The whole needle is an "eye".   So for those of you with eye site issues this is a great product for you because all you have to do is spread the middle of the needle and slip your thread in.  Works great with thicker threads too!  Only 50 cents each!

Have a “beadiful” day and thank you for your business!
